About Urgrl

My name is Tina, I am 33 years old, I have been a single mother since I was 18 years old. I have been unemployed for almost 2 years now, (I know so has everyone else and I don't expect much sympathy in that department). I recently got married and am enjoying my new life with my husband ( Who was also unemployed) and my 2 daughters. I have been an overweight individual my entire life. I have done all the diets imaginable until now. I have decided the one thing I didn't try whole hearted was excercise. So now I have taken advantage of the facilities our community offers. I feel pretty good about getting to gym 4 times a week to do the tredmill ( Gotta start somewhere). I am actively looking for employment, but here comes the true problem I have my teeth. I used to have such beautiful teeth until my 2nd child ( by the age 24) and everything just went downhill. I will say the responibilty lies mostly in my lap. I had terrible morning sickness that struck at any and every meal, every single thing made me sick I tried so hard to brush and floss everytime I was sick and sometimes even that made me sick. So I basically just gave up (terrible I know). After birth I went to the dentist but so much needed to be done I just couldn't afford it (even with insurance), so I just got work done when I really needed it one tooth at a time if you will. Then I found more and more teeth were falling apart (periodic disease). And I just couldn't keep up, then I grew so embarrassed that I stopped going all together. Now I have no insurance and a mouth full of rotten and digusting teeth. I want to get a job so badly but I am so self consious of my teeth I never smile. I truly mean that NEVER, not even around my children it kills me inside that I can't smile. Who wants to hire someone who never smiles?  I am so worried about dying because of my rotting teeth. How did things get so bad? Where is there help for someone like me? I have no money, no insurance, just a rotten mouth. I am working on my overwieght issue but I have no idea how to take care of my mouth. If I could make my own teeth I would. I would pull out each of my teeth and make new ones but obviously this is unrealistic so I just sit here and search for any and everything I could do. Please please if your out there help me! I would even be a poster child for why you need too take of your teeth if I could just my fixed. I am not opposed to wearing dentures at this point I would do just about anything to smile again.

I need dental help in getting false teeth.

I am a 32 year old mom who works at home as a call center agent, and I have a beautiful 3 year old daughter. I am a normal outgoing person (well I was in my 20's) but I have dental problems that started from my teenage years with aneroxia norvosa and a family history of south teeth. My grandmother had soft teeth, and so did my dad,  and they both had false teeth. It looks in my my thirties the same is going for me.

Now all I do is sit at home, I hardly ever go outside the house, only to get food and supplies. I am basicly a recluse, and I hate being this way. I mean i accept that i need dentures, but is there a any references that help low income parents in their thirties for dental treatment here in Ga? I just go over flu like infection two days ago from an abcess front tooth. I just need some direction where to go or some infomation where to call. I live in Byron, Ga.

 Thank you for you time,

 Gina Taylor

About jillibean

Hi, my name is Jill & I am 38 years-old.  I am looking for help with dental care to fix my horrible looking, humiliating teeth.  I have a disease called "Mononeuritis Multiplex w/ vasculitis".  I had been struggling with the disease for many years but I finally found out what I had in 2000.  The disease took me from being a very independent, self-reliant, energetic software programmer with PRETTY TEETH, to a disabled, dependent, unemployed young woman with now HORRIBLE looking teeth, that all the medication I take has taken it's toll on.  I do take very good care of my teeth, I suppose if I slacked off any at all I wouldn't have any, so that is not the problem.  The town in which I live has help with dental care but the wait list is almost a year long.  I did at one point, get in to see a dental student through that program.  Not that I am at all against using dental students but with her lack of experience, the places where she attempted to temporarily fix my teeth, the coloring of the fillings was so off in the color matching that it looks REALLY REALLY bad, I mean REALLY bad.  She tried to do what she could I suppose but I need six crowns across the top front of my teeth.  There, they don't do crowns, they just pull your teeth.  I want to smile like I use to before all of this.  The way the disease has made me look and all the surgeries I have endured and the many more to come, should be enough to have to accept. I just wish that I would be able to smile and not be ashamed and embarrassed of my nasty looking teeth.  Everyone should be able to smile, everyone.  Naturally, it is going to cost around $5500-$6000, paid up front, to get the crowns and being on disability, there is no way that is going to happen.  I don't know where/who to turn to or if there is even help out there but I figure that I have to try.  I am not one to beg but I will do so if it would help at all.  It is just so embarrassing and degrading to have to live with your mouth like this.  If anyone has any ideas whatsoever or knows of a dentist in the upper northwestern WI area that would at least take payments please let me know, it would be so appreciated..... Thank you for taking the time to read this
